Conceived by award-winning designer and art director Bruno Pieters, ‘Honest by’ is a clothing line and a retailer who chose to commit to a radically transparent fashion business. Travelling through India, far away from so-called fashionland, Bruno Pieters observed how native people wore clothes that were grown, woven and sewn from sources they could identify around them.
‘Honest by’ was born of this evidence, felt by more and more consumers that their purchases are not without impact. That everyone should be able to buy in full consciousness of their act. This is why ‘Honest by’, in addition to ensuring products are made with respect of both people and environment, carefully screens its suppliers to verify every component has least possible ecological impact.
A new way to consume, in complete awareness. That’s an evidence.

Congrats to the Scottish designer, Jonathan Saunders who has won the BFC/Vogue Fashion Fund 2012! It comes at a very busy time for Jonathan Saunders who last month launched a menswear line in Milan and is preparing to show a new collection in London.
And though this award (and the £200,000 accompanying it) will allow him to invest in his evolving business, he certainly didn’t wait for it to dress the fashionistas of the world. Look :

Each item is a unique piece of artwork. That’s the way fashion is for Marjut Uotila, designer of the Finnish menswear brand
Dusty, who is very attentive to the quality of production of her collections.
All Dusty’s products are made locally and as ecologically as possible. Garments are manufactured in small ateliers surrounding the area of Lahti, Finland, nearby the label’s studio. Details are finished by hand. The result? Desirable items that are artistic yet wearable.
For its FW12/13 collection, Dusty continues in the vein that made the success of the brand: beautiful knitwear and perfect design for a sportswear yet chic wardrobe (worn here by Eric Christison, Finnish National Ballet Dancer).

Since the launch of her eponymous label in Paris, Steffie Christiaens’s collections have been featured in numerous magazines (including French ELLE and Italian Vogue) as they’re absolutely brilliant!
From the beginning, Steffie Christiaens’s trajectory is faultless; born in the Netherlands, she studied fashion in Paris, learned from Balenciaga, worked at Maison Martin Margiela and was selected as a finalist in the prestigious Hyères festival.
Elemental forces and nature are the starting point for designing new silhouettes, lines and fabric inspirations. Then the 3D exploration can start by draping, patternmaking or blowtorching fabrics.
The FW 12/13 men’s collection presents a variety of materials: fur, wool, cotton, jersey sometimes mixed to create desirable coats, reversible jackets, pleated detail trousers or elegant shoes.
Artisanal approach to experimental garments, fluidity of complex structures, the fascinating work of Steffie Christiaens can be seen on Le New Black and at n°10 Showroom.

Made from high quality leather between Beirut and Istanbul, Johnny Farah accessories for men and women are the result of an exceptional quality craftsmanship. The vegetable tanning process preserves the natural beauty of the Italian leather pieces and each piece of hardware is made from hand-molded high quality solid brass that ages giving more character to the accessories.
The influences of Lebanese designer Johnny Farah came from Copenhagen where he developed a particular interest in the simplicity and practicality of
Scandinavian architecture and furniture design, and more specifically in the way different materials like concrete, iron, wood or leather were put to their full
form and functional potential.
Today, Johnny Farah owns five shops between Beirut, New York and Dubai. His bags, belts and accessories are also sold in a number of shops around the world (Europe, USA, Japan…).

In an effort to escape from any kind of current trends, designer Margarita Robertson created NOM*d, a New Zealand brand mixing a real science of textures and original androgynous cuts. Paying homage to its origins, NOM*d’s collections reflect the gothic baroque architecture characteristic of Dunedin, the city on New Zealand south island where the brand was created.
Celebrated by fashion editors from around the world for their unique aesthetic, elaborate deconstructionism, and their talent for reworking vintage, NOM*d designs entail more than simple clothing.
NOM*d creates wardrobes for visionaries that you can now find on Le New Black.

The concept of Romanian label Twenty(2)too? Mixing street, fun, ironic details with classical tailoring, in order to create an impeccably cut and sewn garment. And more than that…a true collector’s piece to cherish for years to come.
Since 2010, Twenty(2)too has built collections chronologically, as episodes from the life of an imaginary boy continuing the adventure of “growing up”. So, starting from chilhood, each collection corresponds to a new phase in the transformation process of life.
Because of his passion for the process of artisanal creation and his desire to perpetuate a “savoir faire”, Mihaï Dan Zarug, the designer of Twenty(2)too, holds quality as an essential element of his work. The collections will not be large, but a limited number of items, carefully studied and developed for them to transcend the trends and become classics.
Twenty(2)too collections can be found in Bucharest’s best concept stores: Entrance Shop (Comme des Garçons, Rick Owens, Maison Martin Margiela…) and IQONIQUE Class Studio.
The AW12/13 collection of Twenty(2)too, presented recently at Seek Berlin, is now available on Le New Black.
